Thermaltake Water Cooling Systems Editorial Review
The Thermaltake Pacific MX2 Ultra CPU Waterblock with a 2.1-inch LCS display and a built-in water temperature sensor is a quality piece made with good materials that look great in a water loop. Installation is relatively easy, and the product is built to last the life of the computer. The display is helpful to quickly monitor critical stats for system performance, and it comes with a bracket for use on any Intel or AMD CPU. However, customers have a major grievance with the Thermaltake software, which is unstable and crashes regularly. The software interface is clunky, and every time a user tries to load an image other than the default options the program closes, making it hard to use the screen. Others are disappointed that the temperature data cannot be read by other software programs, and there is no need to ramp fans up and down continuously on a closed water loop. The software design and inability to allow any other fan/motherboard software to access data from the sensor feels like an enormous miss.
