Puccini: La Boheme

Puccini: La Boheme This recording of Puccini's La Boheme has received mixed reception from customers. Some praise the beautiful opera and the performances of the singers, while others have expressed disappointment with certain aspects of the recording. One common complaint is the abrupt changes between scenes and sections that sound like a scratch on a record, causing the music to skip. This issue has detracted from the overall listening experience for some customers. Additionally, there are remarks about certain portions of the music being cut short, giving the impression that something is missing. Another point of contention is the discrepancy between the product description and the actual recording received. Instead of the advertised recording with Karajan, Pavarotti, and Freni, some customers received a CD featuring Bocelli and Frittoli. This unexpected change left some feeling unsatisfied with their purchase. However, there are positive remarks about the performances of the singers and the overall sound quality. Many appreciate the talent of the opera singers involved, although some customers hold the opinion that this recording does not live up to the 1959 Decca recording with Tebaldi, Bergonzi, Bastianini, d'Angelo, and Siepi. The reviewer mentions Tebaldi's breathtaking rendition of "Mi chiamano Mimi" and Bastianini's powerful performance in the second act. Overall, while this recording of La Boheme has its flaws, it can still be recommended for those who prioritize good sound quality over the singers' performances. However, for a truly exceptional rendition of the opera, the 1959 Decca recording is highly recommended.
