The NANDA Diagnosis Handbook has been available for over 50 years now, and this book is based on the 2021-2023 edition. Despite the good intentions behind NANDA, nursing diagnoses have not worked and aren't getting better, according to some of the customer reviews. The short list of nursing diagnoses is not comprehensive enough, and the evidence-based practice is not mocked by some diagnoses such as "imbalance energy field." At this point, nursing diagnoses only exist because a small minority of nurses disregard common sense and value this, claiming it's included in Joint Commission standards. However, the book's introduction is excellent and sets the table for the rest of it. A great resource, especially if you're ever challenged on your practice in court by a bad employer saying, "This is the way we do things here."
