Question:
Is there any reason that this unit cannot be mounted horizontally?
Answer: The weather deck unit is a face plate. It should be mounted vertically to prevent water pooling in the control switch openings and freezing. Additionally, if mounted horizontally, the visibility of the switch lights may be compromised. -
Question:
Does the 6-position switch come with labels?
Answer: Yes, it comes with 30 labels. Custom labels can be ordered separately. -
Question:
Is there a setting for amperage on each switch? How does it know when to trip? Why do I need a fuse block if using breakers?
Answer: The ampere rating for each breaker is identified on the switch. A fuse block is not necessary unless the required amperage is lower than the breaker rating. If you need a higher ampere rating, relays and fuses can be used after the switch. -
Question:
How do I order the backlight board for the labeled area? Does it change color when a switch is on?
Answer: Only the panels with fuses or circuit breakers are backlit. The panel without fuses or breakers does not have illumination. You may need to contact Blue Seas directly for information on ordering the separate backlight board. The color change feature depends on the specific model. -

What color is this unit?
Answer: The unit is grey. -

What size fuse should be used for powering the panel label backlights?
Answer: A 3-amp fuse should be used for the lights. -
Question:
Can this handle a load of 50 amps and 600 watts throughout the switches?
Answer: No, it is not designed to handle a load of 50 amps. It is recommended for 12 or 24 volt with a 15 amp fuse.
